I look at Noelle's sweet little face constantly throughout the day, here on my blog and on the photos that surround my computer, wondering just who this little girl is now and who she will become as she grows. We went to the Ice Haus on Saturday evening to watch the spring ice show put on by local youth who take lessons at the Ice Haus, just like Emma does. If we are still here in Greeley come Christmas, Emma will be in the Christmas ice show and we are all so excited about that. I wonder if Noelle will be athletic as Emma is, if she will take a shine to something like Emma has done with ice skating. We did not choose to put Emma into ice skating, it was her decision. Just by a fluke attending an ice show in Breckenridge, Colorado over a year ago did we find out that Emma is quite athletic and loves to skate. When/if she stops loving it, we will stop with the lesssons but for now, she is eager to go to each practice and she especially likes skating with her Daddy. We will be putting Emma in the community dance lessons starting in May as she has been asking about dance lessons now. And of course, we will try again with the swimming lessons (she got too cold last year at the indoor rec center but now says she wants to try again). Thank goodness Noelle will not be ready to be taking any kind of lessons for a good year or more. That will give us time to find out what Emma really wants to do and excel in, so we can get her going in the right direction, just in time to let Noelle take her turn at delving into life and finding something she loves and has fun doing.
We did not get the exact dates today of our travel to China, but we should tomorrow, so our agency says. We hope so. I am more than ready to get this little girl out of the orphanage and into our family, where she has an "Ice Princess" big sister who is more than ready to take on her role.
P.S. Another ladybug sighting!! We were walking to the car after church on Sunday and it was crawling on the sidewalk in front of us - Wayne spotted it. Coincidence, no. ;D
This gal's name is Nica. She is I think around 10 years old, has been skating for only 2 to 3 years. She is amazing. She has a natural talent for ice skating and loves it totally - I have spoken with her mom who is as amazed at her daughter's talent as the rest of us are. I fully expect to see this girl in the Olympics someday. Remember that name - Nica!!!
This young man is the best of the boy skaters, but Nica is far better than he is.
What was a total delight was that they had a portion of the show that was dedicated to China. We all loved that of course.
I realize they have ice rinks practically everywhere but they have amazing coaches at the Greeley Ice Haus and I love the small-town feel here in Greeley.
